Cratehouse of Horrors

CHILLING tales from a spooky storyteller caused youngsters to scream in delight at Castleford's Cratehouse.

A haunting Halloween workshop - with scary face-painting and a ghoulish rendition of Poetry of Pumpkins from eerie guest Thorn the World Poet - bewitched children at the town's installation and 2 Sagar Street on Friday.

Captivated youngsters also took part in a Harry Potter quiz and made spiders' web drearn-catchers inside the pumpkin-lit sculpture.

Emma Goodway, arts development worker at Sagar Street, said: "The workshop was extremely successful. We had around 30 youngsters here, who gave us brilliant ideas about the kind of events they would like us to organise in the future.

"We thought it would be a fantastic idea to organise something for children during half-term week and everyone had a lot of fun."
