All children are welcome at the "G'day to Read" summer reading program at the First Baptist Church in Wimberley. The free program began on June 16, and will run each Tuesday through July 21. From 10 — 11 a.m., children from 4-years to 2nd grade listen 10 readings from selected books and chilren's Bible stories. Other activities round out the hour. Australia is this year's theme.

On June 30, a special guest reader joins in the fun! Australian by birth, Texan by choice, Thorn "Moon 10" is a prolific, performing poet. He calls Austin home, and annually tours England and Australia, returning "down under" in August. He teaches writing workshops for all ages and levels of writing experience. Thorn excels at improvisational poetry, especially when accompanied by music. Nearly 200 of his poetry "chat books" are in print. And, he hosts several poetry/music open-mic venues in Austin. Thorn is a real live poet!
